4th Straight Year: Obama Thanksgiving Resolution Doesn’t Thank God
LifeNews.com
For the fourth straight year, the Thanksgiving resolution from President Barack Obama fails to actually thank God — which is the fundamental reason why Thanksgiving is observed.
In 1789, President George Washington issued a proclamation that set forth the main reason for Thanksgiving, saying, “Now therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be. That we may then all unite in rendering unto him our sincere and humble thanks – for his kind care and protection of the People of this Country previous to their becoming a Nation.”

Atheism a growing presence in America
A leading Christian apologist says the effort by an atheist-lobbying group that is pushing for a political presence in all 50 states illustrates the growth of atheism in American society.
Secular Coalition for America (SCA), a group that represents atheists and non-believers on Capitol Hill, is pressing for lobbying organizations in every state in the nation (see earlier story). The group has selected a well-known Republican strategist, Edwina Rogers, to serve as its new leader.

Row over BBC drama which shows Jesus crucified in a foetal position
The Daily Mail
The BBC is facing accusations of rewriting the Easter story by claiming Christ was nailed to the cross in a foetal position. The corporation is accused of "misleading" the public by ditching the traditional image of Jesus with arms outstretched, legs straight and hands nailed. Makers of lavish new drama The Passion, which started last night, say they are challenging this image, because new historical evidence shows he probably did not die this way. They instead maintain he likely died with his arms above his head, nails through his arms and his knees bent, when killed by the Romans. But the corporation is being accused of ignoring evidence in the Bible and gratuitously offending Christians who cherish the image. This comes just weeks after the broadcaster faced claims of exonerating Judas and Pontius Pilate in the same programme, which stars Joseph Mawle as Jesus. Others have also hit out at the programme's portrayal of Jesus' mother Mary, after the programme suggested she had not known what was happening to her. Speaking about the crucifixion row, Reverend George Curry, chairman of the Church Society, said: "They are misleading people by distorting the facts.
