Parents Reject Doctor’s Advice to Abort Baby With Birth Defects

LifeNews.com

Adeline Raymond defied the odds. She was given a one-in-ten chance of surviving her birth, not by her doctors, but by statistics. If it were up to some of her doctors, Adeline wouldn’t have made it. Her parents Andy and Ida said they were told by doctors to abort her.

Adeline’s misfortune was being diagnosed in the womb with multiple birth defects. The statistics show a staggeringly high rate of abortions performed on children diagnosed with disabilities in the womb. One international study showed 92 percent of children diagnosed with Down syndrome and 64 percent diagnosed with spina bifida were aborted.

New Research: Abortion Poses Higher Risk of Death than Giving Birth

LifeNews.com

For years abortion advocates and researchers have been asserting that an abortion is in fact safer than carrying a pregnancy to term. They contend that pregnancy is a long process and the chance of complications during the gestational period and birth is significantly higher than complications resulting from the abortion procedure.

However, a study released this past week demonstrates that this claim is not entirely valid. New research, which takes into account the full reproductive histories of the women involved, illustrates that, compared to women who delivered their babies, women who had an early- or late-term abortion have significantly higher mortality rates within one to ten years of the event.

Reporters Who Watch Abortions Tell of Their Brutal Reality

LifeNews.com

Sometimes authors of magazines are allowed to witness abortions in the course of writing articles. Sometimes medical students who never had an opinion on abortion come to grips with the procedure after viewing one. People who observe abortion procedures or abortion remains usually come away with little doubt that abortion is killing a human being.

Author Verlyn Klinkenborg of Harper’s Magazine visited an abortion clinic for a 1995 article. After viewing the remains of an abortion at ten weeks, he wrote the following (1):

PPN: Self-defense is biblical, constitutional

LifeNews.com

As the government debates gun control in the wake of the Sandy Hook shooting, a ministerial group believes many Christians feel vilified for their pro-gun position.

Rohrer, Sam (PPN)Sam Rohrer, president of the Pennsylvania Pastors' Network, contends the debate over gun control exists because some in government reject historical, biblical principles that are also constitutionally guaranteed. His organization points to the Bible, which gives clear guidance on one's right to self-defense; and he is calling on pastors and laypeople to teach the necessity of living according to a biblical worldview.

Thinking of learning a new language? Try English – broadcast media style. Specifically, try abortion-reporting speak – a tongue as notable for the words it doesn’t use as those it does.

This year’s annual March for Life, this Friday, Jan. 25th, marks the 40th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision. And, though you might think it would be difficult to talk about something called the March for Life without using the word “life,” the broadcast networks have shown the utility of abortion-reporting speak. In the past 10 years, 91 percent of ABC, NBC, and CBS anchor reports on the March for Life and Roe v. Wade failed to mention the word, “life.”

Pastor Ed Young of Fellowship Church in Grapevine, Texas, delivered his latest sermon in the "What Would Jesus Say To…" series over the weekend and offered that Christ would tell disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong to stop running away from the truth, to stop lying and turn to God.

According to Pastor Young, Jesus would turn to Armstrong in a one-on-one conversation and say: "Lance, fall on your knees before me. Stop your paddling. Stop your performing. Stop trying to hear those words you didn't hear when you were young. Stop compromising. Stop trying to be the god of your life. You're out of control. Your life is a wreck; your life is a mess."
