Karin Agness
Founder and President, Network of enlightened Women (NeW)

Karin L. Agness founded the Network of enlightened Women (NeW) in the fall of 2004 while a student at the University of Virginia. NeW is a national book club for conservative college women. NeW aims to cultivate a community of conservative women and expand intellectual diversity on university campuses. NeW members meet regularly to discuss issues relating to politics, gender and conservative principles. Karin has worked to expand NeW to universities throughout the country. There are currently 15 chapters and the club continues to grow. NeW has been featured in TIME Magazine Online, The Washington Times, and National Review Online.
Karin, who hails from Indianapolis, has interned in the office of Senator Lugar (R-IN) and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in Washington D.C. and participated in several political campaigns. She is a columnist for The Virginia Advocate , a conservative UVa newsmagazine, and has written columns for Townhall.com. She has appeared on the Washington Journal on CSPAN, Laura Ingraham Radio Show and Bruce Elliott Radio Show.
Karin graduated with distinction in May 2006 with a BA in American Studies from the University of Virginia, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, Omicron Delta Kappa and the Raven Society. She is currently in law school at the University of Virginia.
