President, Exodus International

Alan Chambers is one of the nation\\\'s leading speakers on gender issues and serves as President of Exodus International - the largest evangelical organization dealing with this topic in the world today. Alan\\\'s personal story as a teen and young adult who struggled with and overcame unwanted sam-sex attraction has inspired thousands. He offers unique insight into how homosexuality personally affects individuals and the broader culture.

Since its inception in 1976, Exodus has grown to include more than 150 professional mental health and church-based member agencies that offer help and hope to those affected by unwanted homosexuality. Under Alan\\\'s leadership, Exodus has expanded its ministry to include education and training programs for pastors, church leaders and youth and college workers desiring to approach the subject of homosexuality with God\\\'s uncompromising truth and bold love.

Prior to coming to Exodus in 2001, Alan served on the pastoral team at Calvary Assembly of God, one of the largest churches in Orlando, Florida. In 2005, Charisma magazine named him among the top Christian leaders representing the future of the American church.

Alan has spoken at public forums around the world and across the United States. He has debated at the University of California at Berkeley, Pepperdine University and Reformed Theological Seminary and is a regular guest speaker for Focus on the Family\\\'s Love Won Out Conference - an international conference addressing the roots and causes of homosexuality.

He is actively involved in promoting public policies that protect traditional marriage and family. He has testified before the Massachusetts State Judiciary Committee on same-sex marriage and lobbies at the federal and state level on related issues.
