Demos Chrissos

Writer/Producer, RapidResponse Media, Inc.

Demos Chrissos is a writer-producer and president of RapidResponse Media, a Washington, D.C.-based creative consulting company that develops issue advocacy media for broadcast, print and the Internet. He is a video editor, self-taught audio engineer/sound designer, music composer, and is passionate about writing and producing media that helps move the dial on a number of conservative issues he feels strongly about. RapidResponse Media’s work includes working with Colin Hanna of Let Freedom Ring and writing and producing the “Easy Cover” television spot that helped launch the WeNeedAFence.com campaign to re-focus the immigration reform debate in Congress to a strategy of using a multi-stage state-of-the-art security fence to secure the southern border. On the local front, Demos has personally confronted the impact of illegal immigration in his own county by publicly testifying at numerous city and county meetings for the past two years against using taxpayer money to fund day laborer centers that skirt U.S. immigration laws. He is currently investigating the suspected link between illegal immigration and widespread voter fraud across the nation.

His focus on the problems of illegal immigration drew him to the story of Border Patrol Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean who are now serving 11 and 12 year prison sentences for shooting a drug smuggler who brought $1 million in illegal drugs across the border, was shot while resisting arrest, fled back to Mexico and was given immunity to come back and testify against the two agents. This story compelled Demos to break with his party loyalties and use his own resources to create a hard-hitting television campaign specifically targeted at President Bush. He hopes these spots will help ignite a national movement to help Ramos and Compean and convince the President that something is seriously wrong in America when the Justice Department gives immunity to a Mexican national drug smuggler to testify against the two Border Patrol Agents who tried to arrest him. His concern is that the public anger over this case has evaporated what remains of any loyalty towards the Republican party and sent a chilling message to law enforcement officers throughout the country and a message of opportunity to drug cartels all over the world.

Demos’ background includes working as a writer/producer in several ad agencies, owning and managing a recording studio that serviced a variety of corporate, national and international clients in addition to a number of political consultants. For over 20 years he sat in the jump seat beside some of the most successful political media strategists in the business writing original music for a number of their high-profile Republican political campaigns. This vantage point provided him a raw, behind-the-scenes look at the good, bad and the ugly moments of full-contact, political combat. His music work includes original post-scores for Jeb Bush, Mitt Romney, John Engler, Lamar Alexander, Ollie North, Christie Whitman, Tommy Thompson, and Bob Dole. His post-score work for a 1988 “Dole for President” video was highlighted in Richard Ben Cramer’s book, “What It Takes – The Way to the White House.”

Demos has a degree in Radio, Television and Film from the University of Maryland and has lived in the DC-Metro area all his life. Both his parents worked up on Capitol Hill and politics were frequently discussed. His father worked for Republicans and his mother worked for Democratic icons that included Congressman John F. Kennedy and Senator Sam Ervin during the Watergate Hearings. This led to many interesting “discussions” over dinner.
